A whole drum kit under your fingers.

Kick, snare, three toms, hi-hat, crash and ride, laid out the way a drummer sees them. Hit with several fingers at once for real grooves, switch to the electronic kit for 808-style beats, or use the pad view for big targets on a small screen.

Play drums with your keyboard

Your left hand rests on the hi-hat and snare, your right hand reaches the toms and ride, and the space bar is the kick pedal — so you can keep a beat with both hands like on a real kit.

Each drum has zones: hit the snare rim for a side-stick click, the outer edge of the hi-hat to open it, and the middle of the ride for the bell.

Your first rock beat

Count a steady one-and-two-and-three-and-four-and, and try this pattern:

  1. Play the closed hi-hat (A) on every count and every "and" — eight even hits per bar.
  2. Add the kick (Space) on counts one and three.
  3. Add the snare (S) on counts two and four. That's the backbeat behind thousands of songs.

Questions

Can I play the drums with my keyboard?

Yes. A plays the hi-hat, S the snare, Space the kick, E R and F the toms, Q the crash and O the ride. Every key is shown on the drum it plays.

Does the online drum kit work on phones?

Yes. Tap with several fingers at once, switch to Pads for bigger targets, and use full screen or the rotate button to play in landscape.

What is the difference between the acoustic and electronic kits?

The acoustic kit sounds like real drums and cymbals. The electronic kit has deep 808-style kicks, snappy snares, a clap and a cowbell for hip-hop and electronic beats.
